Vince Zampella, Dies in a California Car Crash
The visionary game developer, the mind behind the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.
His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.
The renowned video game developer lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a motorway in LA on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
