Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault

Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a believed to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
