Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the jet's front window, per an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.
This incident is not the first time that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
