Palestinian-American Adolescent Freed Following Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

A American-Palestinian teenager who spent nine months in imprisonment by Israel without being charged was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention in February within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing from his Florida home under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

United States authorities said it welcomed the news of Mohammed's release.

Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

They said he is pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "immense relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Right now, we are focused on getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he needs after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions throughout his detention."

US officials stated they would maintain to offer diplomatic assistance for the Ibrahim family.

{"American leadership considers paramount to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," officials stated.

Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to US authorities and the White House, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.

Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children managing a frozen treats business from Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

He had not seen or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, receiving updates exclusively regarding the treatment through judicial records.

Mohammed was held absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.

The facility also contains adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities including killings.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.

Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, document cases involving abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

This young American-Palestinian who the Palestinian health ministry said was beaten to death by settlement residents during a confrontation last July.

During that period, military authorities reported officials were investigating accounts of a Palestinian had been killed.

Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated within the family's frozen treats establishment based in Florida.

No one has been charged with Sayfollah's killing.

"We anticipate United States leadership to ensure our family's safety," family representatives emphasized.
