A funding package that would terminate the longest federal closure in American history is heading to the House of Representatives for a critical decision on midweek.

On the sixth week of the budget deadlock, representatives are coming back to Washington to vote on whether to pass a Senate package that would support government departments for two months.

Republican leadership stated assurance the funding measure would clear the lower chamber, notwithstanding their slim advantage. But top Democrats promised to vote against it.
