Homages Continue for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.
Well beyond 14 days following the shocking loss of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the duo.
Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to express about his personal sorrow.
"Adequate time has gone by that I can now put my grief into words," shared Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the film, commenting that he doesn't recollect "a single day without mirth".
"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade
In a separate tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the protagonist.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.
Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld
Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to block the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the local authorities.
A court order issued a security hold on the investigation to limit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" connected to the probe.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative remarks that were met with immediate backlash by several commentators.
Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan labeled the remarks as "shocking" and implied they revealed a concerning absence of compassion.
Rogan concluded by suggesting that an adviser ought to have stepped in when the choice to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
